The PAL team will present in the morning from 8am-1pm on the following:
PAL Psychiatrist, Dr. Joshua Stein, will present in the afternoon on Suicidal Prevention from 1:30-3pm:
- Overview of the Psychiatric Consultation Service and the importance of early identification of mental illness
- Psychopharmacology (eg. antidepressants, stimulants, and non-stimulants)
- Metabolic Monitoring
- Pharmacogenomics testing
- Community Resources, Fast-TrackerMN.org, and collaborative care models
PAL Psychiatrist, Dr. Joshua Stein, will present in the afternoon on Suicidal Prevention from 1:30-3pm:
- QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer - The “CPR” for those who are suicidal.
- Explore MN based statistics regarding alarming trend of increased suicide completions
- Create “gatekeepers” who can identify and intervene when people are at risk
- Based on QPR training
- How, not the why: Lethal Means Reduction
- Reduce access to lethal means in a clinical setting
- Provide specific resources when higher level intervention is necessary
- Based on CALM training
